Our First Creative Core Market
9 June 2025
Our very first market at St James took place at the end of last month — and we’re really pleased with how it went.
It was great to see so many people pop along throughout the day, and we’ve had some lovely comments from visitors since. A few even got in touch after the event to ask for the contact details of some of the stallholders so they could buy more, which is always a good sign!
A Mix of Local Traders and Great Finds
We had a wide range of stalls on the day — from handmade jewellery and crystals, to crochet gifts, dog treats, and even a dedicated Pokémon stall. There was also a fantastic cake stall and delicious Greek food available for anyone in need of lunch or a treat while they browsed.
Some of us from the St James team made sure to head down and sample what was on offer (strictly for research purposes, of course!) and we can safely say the food was delicious!
A Lovely Atmosphere
One of the best things about the day was the atmosphere. People stayed to browse, chat, and explore — and there was a relaxed, welcoming feel across the centre. A few passersby told us how nice it was to see something different happening, and that they hoped it would return.
Looking Ahead
We’re now looking at future dates and hope to make the market a regular fixture. If you visited, thank you for coming and supporting local traders. If you didn’t make it this time, keep an eye on our social channels — we’ll be sharing updates as soon as we have more details to share.
